Te Waiu o Aotearoa Trust is a dedicated initiative established in 1994 to support the education and advancement of Māori individuals, especially in the fields of business, banking, and finance. With its 30th anniversary celebrated this year, the Trust aims to enhance employment opportunities for Māori through annual scholarships. Each scholarship awards recipients $5,000 to aid in their tertiary education expenses, providing critical financial support for Māori students enrolled in general business or banking and finance degrees.

Administered by Westpac New Zealand Limited, the Trust emphasizes fostering educational growth among Māori communities across Aotearoa. Eligible applicants must be of Māori descent, registered with Iwi, and pursuing full-time studies at a New Zealand tertiary institution. Applications for the 2025 scholarships are currently open, with support available for those navigating the application process.
