Norwegian Refugee Council

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is an independent humanitarian organization dedicated to assisting individuals and families forcibly displaced from their homes by conflict and persecution. Established after World War Two, NRC operates in over 40 countries, addressing urgent humanitarian needs and supporting long-term recovery efforts. The organization specializes in six core areas: food security, education, shelter, legal assistance, protection from violence, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).

With nearly 15,000 staff, many of whom have experienced displacement themselves, NRC is uniquely positioned to understand and respond to the challenges faced by displaced communities. Through its esteemed Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre, NRC advocates for the rights of those affected, ensuring their dignity is upheld in local and international contexts. Furthermore, NRC's NORCAP initiative collaborates with various partners to create sustainable solutions for those at risk. In 2023 alone, NRC provided vital support to almost 10 million people globally, highlighting its commitment to building brighter futures for displaced individuals.
