**MyShake App**

MyShake is a pioneering earthquake alert application developed by UC Berkeley in collaboration with the United States Geological Survey and California’s Office of Emergency Services. Available for free on both Android and iOS platforms, MyShake empowers Californians by delivering timely alerts as soon as ground sensors detect significant seismic activity. Providing crucial seconds of notice to users, it enables them to prepare for potential shaking, which can significantly reduce risks during an earthquake.

The app utilizes data from over 900 sensors across California to identify earthquakes of magnitude 4.5 or higher. Users can input their hometown to receive location-based notifications, available in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, and Chinese. Besides real-time alerts, the app highlights the importance of earthquake preparedness, encouraging users to create emergency kits and establish communication plans. MyShake stands out as a vital safety tool for anyone living in earthquake-prone areas, fostering a culture of readiness and resilience in California's vibrant communities.
