The European University Institute (EUI) is a premier international research institution based in Florence, Italy, dedicated to the fields of social sciences and humanities. Established in 1972 by the founding members of the European Communities, EUI has become a transnational hub for research and advanced learning, attracting scholars from over 85 countries.
