The service marketplace has debuted a new logo and brand identity.

β€œIt will always remain part of the company legacy; our name is not changing. However, we’re in the business of connection and tasks, not rabbits.” according to a post on their website about doing away with their rabbit icon. β€œBy evolving beyond the rabbit icon, we can showcase human interactions and the people we empower. The new brand champions people like you, our customers, who help Taskers thrive, and the Taskers themselves who have created livelihoods via our platform.

Founded in 2008 as RunMyErrand, TaskRabbit is an online marketplace that connects users with freelance workers for labor work. The work needed by the user is usually household or labor-intensive tasks, which can range from moving items to furniture assembly.Β

As of 2012, the company received $37.7 million in funding, and currently employs thousands of workers to do work in various categories. In 2017, furniture and houseware brand IKEA acquired TaskRabbit and became their partner.

Headquartered in San Francisco, TaskRabbit also has offices in New York, Austin, London, and Los Angeles. The company primarily serves cities in the United States, but also serves other countries such as the United Kingdom, Italy, Portugal, Canada, France, and Germany.Β

Currently, there are around 200,000 contractors and freelancers that use the online platform. Aside from household work, TaskRabbit also included virtual and contactless services due to the pandemic.
