The platform for photographers unveiled a new logo and visual identity.
βItβs inspired by the relentless creativity of our photographers across the globe, and a world explored through a viewfinder,β according to a blog post on their website. βItβs also a reflection of our commitment to keep supporting store owners, and giving images the showcase they deserve.β
Picfair is a photography e-commerce platform that enables both professional and amateur photographers to sell their work. Working as a central marketplace for photos, it currently has over half a million photographers selling their work.
The brand was founded in 2013 by journalist Benji Lanyado who previously worked at The Guardian and The New York Times.Β
The platform began as a pitch by Lanyado to Reddit founder, Alexis Ohanain, who was among the first to invest in the company during its initial seed round. By 2017, the tool had over 25,000 users and nearly 2 million dollars in funding. By 2018, the platform was offering stand-alone stores where photographers can create their own online stores to sell their photographs.
Aside from providing an e-commerce platform, they also have resources to help with marketing and other educational tools to enable photographers to turn their passion into a business. It works on a freemium model, with customization options open at paid tiers.
