The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) recently unveiled its new visual identity.
NASEM is the umbrella network covering three organizations: the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), and the National Academy of Medicine (NAM).
Founded in 1963,Ā NASEM provides accurate information in sciences, engineering, and medicine to guide government leadersā policy-crafting and decision-making. Its ongoing research stimulates innovation, sparks thought-provoking conversations, explores tough industry challenges, and proposes solutions for them.
About 6,000 scientists, engineers, doctors, and other experts annually add to NASEMās growing body of knowledge. They volunteer to serve in its consensus study committees, lead in workshops, and join the peer review process.
Meanwhile, all the existing studies and policies that NASEM has produced in previous years are stored in the collections area of the executive officesā Central Policy Files. Material from NAS, NAE, and NAM are also placed in this section. Every time a new document from these organizations is created, it is also filed here.
āThe new design system will reinforce the National Academiesā reputation as a distinctive and authoritative voice on societyās most pressing questions about science, engineering, and medicine.ā said David May, chief communications officer for the National Academies, in a press release.
