Warner Bros. reforms the superhero brand to make it more like its Marvel Studios counterpart.
Along with a major change in leadership, the division of the media company also changed its name from DC Films to DC Studios, complete with a new logo and visual identity frontlining the studioโs most popular characters like Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman.
DC Studios is an American film and television studio that is a division of Warner Bros. It produces content based on characters from DC Comics, including the DC Extended Universe.ย
In May 2016, Warner Bros. Pictures reorganized to have genre-responsible film executives, and placed DC Entertainment franchise films under a newly created division called DC Films. This division was created in an effort to compete more directly with Marvel Studios' Marvel Cinematic Universe. In January 2018, Walter Hamada was appointed as the president of DC Films to oversee the films in the DC Extended Universe.ย
In October 2022, Hamada left this position and James Gunn and Peter Safran assumed control of the company on November 1, 2022. Despite some setbacks, DC Studios continues to produce high-quality entertainment based on beloved DC Comics characters. Some of its films include "The Suicide Squad," "Joker," "Aquaman," "Shazam!," "The Flash," and "Zack Snyder's Justice League"
