Formerly known as Cigna, the healthcare provider has officially rebranded to 'Cigna Healthcare.'
"The change to our logo reflects the evolution of our brand while still honoring the βTree of Lifeβ and its historical significance." according to a press release on their website. "Cigna now visually surrounds the individual, demonstrating the support and expertise we provide to those we serve. In addition to our new logo, we have new fonts, colors, and a more modern look and feel."
Cigna Group, a leading American multinational managed healthcare and insurance company, offers a wide range of medical, dental, disability, life, and accident insurance products and services. Primarily catering to individuals in the U.S. and selected international markets, Cigna operates through employers and other groups. The company ranks 12th in the 2021 Fortune 500 list of the largest U.S. corporations by total revenue.
Formed in 1982 through the merger of Connecticut General Life Insurance Company and INA Corporation, Cigna has grown into a prominent player in the healthcare industry. It provides Medicare and Medicaid products and is involved in various run-off operations, including a Run-off Reinsurance segment. Cigna Medical Group, a full-service staff-model health maintenance organization, operates in the Phoenix metropolitan area, while Cigna Global Health Benefits functions under the Cigna corporation.
Cigna has a history of acquisitions and strategic alliances, such as its $67 billion acquisition of Express Scripts in 2018. In recent years, the company rebranded its health services portfolio under the name Evernorth and formed alliances with Priority Health and Envision Healthcare. As of February 2023, Cigna renamed its holding company The Cigna Group, its health benefits provider business unit Cigna Healthcare, and its Evernorth business unit Evernorth Health Services.
